Satyanarayan Katha is a well-known pooja from Hindu culture that worships the god Vishnu for wealth and prosperity. Satya means ‘truth’ and Narayana means ‘the highest being’ so Satyanarayana means ‘the highest being who is a literal epitome of truth’.
Satyanarayana Pooja is a very simple pooja and highly performed in most parts of India. As per mythological stories, rishi Narada muni observed poverty and pain on earth due to malnutrition, and he went to Lord Vishnu for the solution. A priest will carry out the Satyanarayana pooja, and in the end, Prashad has to be served consist of a traditional sweet dish called Sheera and other vegetables and fruits. The whole environment becomes pure and divine because of this pooja, and it helps people to receive abundance from god.
